FORT COLLINS HIGH SCHOOL
choral DEPARTMENT
Performing Arts has been an integral part of the Fort Collins High School landscape for more than 100 years, and while we proudly carry that tradition and history in our hearts, we also move forward each season with the bright spirit of pioneering.
FCHS is the only high school in Poudre School District to produce four full-length shows each year, including two musicals and two plays, with students performing in both the 700 seat McNeal Theater with its professional fly-system and the intimate setting of the 90 seat Black Box Theater. In the classroom, FCHS houses 6 choirs, 4 bands, 3 orchestras, a chamber music program,
3 levels of acting classes, AP music theory, Beginning and Advanced Piano, Beginning and Advanced Guitar, History of Rock
and Roll, and a host of other performing arts courses, giving students in our program every opportunity in the world, and sending them on to study at the nation's most coveted performing arts institutions. Join us this season and become a new member of our century old family.
The choral department at Fort Collins High School is comprised of over 200 choral students, two directors and a full-time staff accompanist. The program boasts 6 concert choirs, 2 barbershop choirs and performs two musicals annually. Recently the FCHS choirs have made appearances in Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center in New York City, the CMEA convention at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs and on a European tour in March of 2015 and an Australian tour in March of 2018.
